Approval of the distribution formula for Coweta County's Local Option Sales Tax is on the agenda for Tuesday night's meeting of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is held in the county commission chambers on Perry Street.
The distribution of the LOST proceeds amongst the county and "qualified" municipalities has to be renegotiated every 10 years, following the Census.
Because of the population growth in Newnan and Senoia, Coweta will see its percentage of the LOST drop.
The agreed upon distribution phases in the new percentages over three years, to soften the blow of lost revenue to Coweta.
Other items to come before the board include:
• Acceptance of a donation from longtime commissioner Leroy Johnson of a copy of the 1886 Manual for Road Commissioners. The manual was created at the request of the Coweta County Commissioners of Roads and Revenue. It is the only known copy in existence, and will be displayed in the 1904 Courthouse.
• Approval of the purchase of an Internet filter and reporting solution in the amount of $15,254. The payments will be spread out over three years.
• Adoption of the 2012 update to the Coweta County Capital Improvements Element and the 2013 to 2017 Short Term Work Program.
