Two Coweta County residents were arrested on drug charges after investigators found more than four pounds of marijuana at their residence.

Coweta County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving a bench warrant at 44 Bailey Drive on Tuesday. When they knocked on the door, the deputies smelled marijuana, which was more pronounced once they entered, said Major Jimmy Yarbrough with the sheriff’s office.

“They saw a suspicious box with a California shipping address with the name of one of the individuals at the residence on it,” the major said. Deputies notified the Crime Suppression Unit, who in turn got a search warrant.

Inside the box were digital scales, packing material and three large bags of marijuana totaling 4.4 pounds, Yarbrough said.

Austin Michael Henness, 21, and Stefan William Duenckel, 22, were each charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to Coweta County Jail records.
