What is right and wrong

I can appreciate Bob Lore's frustration with the foolish way Congress is conducting itself and got a kick out of his idea to replace them with chimps, but I must point out that Rep. Lynn Westmoreland has voted in the best interests of the country in every vote I can remember. He couldn't read the last stimulus bill in the nine hours available so he voted against it -- as one writer sagely pointed out on this page, "when in doubt, don't." Now I know many Democrats will vehemently disagree with this but that's to be expected. However, if an open-minded, rational person reads beyond what the mostly left-biased media reports and what the oily-tongued politicians say, it is pretty easy to discern what is right versus what is wrong ... and mortgaging yet unborn generations' future with massive pork barrel spending and political payoffs to special interest groups is dead wrong. I am referring to the Republican porkers as well as the Democrats. It is just a fact that the Democrats are the ones voting in greater numbers for these dangerous bills. Anyone interested in digging deeper than an AP story can check up on individual representatives' voting at www.opencongress.org . Try it, and it might give you a new take on your own representatives. At Opencongress.org everyone has a voice, not just the left or the right.
That idea about the bananas does have a lot of appeal. Talk about cost cutting. John Stevenson Newnan
