Disappointment at Dwarf House: I really was disappointed to see that the Newnan Chick-fil-A took out all the beautiful western artwork they had in the dining room. It was one of the nicest. Now it's just another boring fast-food restaurant.

Where’s the outcry? I just read where around 6,000 black men are murdered in the United States each year, most of them by other black men. You do not hear anything in the media about this, except when a white policeman is involved.

Un-American? Burger King’s potential merger with Tim Horton’s of Canada is anything but un-American. The American business model needs to operate profitably for investors. If a greedy and heavy-handed government excessively taxes corporations, then businesses have no option but to relocate to a better corporate environment. Clearly, stockholders approve.

Big thanks: I would like to thank the man and his wife who reached over to my table and snatched my bill at the Cracker Barrel Friday and said, “Thank you for your service.” I had my Vietnam veteran hat on. I thanked them for recognizing my service. They have a son in the service. Made my day.

No surprise: So, the mayor of Grantville has decided to run for re-election after saying he wasn’t. Wow, who didn’t guess this? What a joke he is. Four more years of him? I don’t think so.

Change downtown: Why is Carrollton cooler than we are? We had dinner recently in downtown Carrollton. We were allowed to take our leftover wine in “to go” cups and walk down to the amphitheater, where there was a band playing. There were food and beverage carts set up around the amphitheater, representing the local restaurants and bars. Why can’t we have this in Newnan?

Hmmm: I wonder what the SAT or ACT scores were for the college-bound Michael Brown?

Back off: I am 76 years old and have never had a serious wreck. When I drive on Coweta County roads and drive the speed limit and you are tailgating me trying to make me go faster, let me ask you a question, how would you like for someone to drive behind your parents or grandparents and intimidate them with your aggressive driving? Back off and leave home earlier.

Full steam ahead: Go ahead, Mr. President, use your pen to grant legal status to millions of illegal immigrants. It should be very enlightening to hear you explain to your voter base why these immigrants would take priority over displacing jobs and receiving over-stretched services implemented for our own citizens.

Campaign ads: All of the negative things that are being aired on TV against David Purdue seem just like the same ads that were run about Mitt Romney. Are these the same people? Sure looks the same

What’s your name? Michelle Nunn. Why does she not use her married name. I suppose she is trying to ride the coattails of her father. Should she not be required to use her legal name on her driver’s license? It seems this is misrepresenting her name.
