Sounds Off

Benefits: As a 27-year, Vietnam-era vet, I greatly appreciate the "thank-yous" from strangers. But to really help us, please write your political leaders and tell them to leave our hard-earned benefits alone.

Re: No choice on health: You can choose whether or not you drive a car, but you cannot choose whether or not you or a member of your family will have a serious illness. Everyone needs health insurance.

Inflation: Don't worry about the billion dollars in aid we’re sending to the Ukraine, it's only worth 37 cents.

Sabbath work: According to Chick-fil-A, Sunday is God’s day, so they are closed. Chick-fil-A does not control other businesses that decide to work on Sunday. They were a contractor. Stop being so judgmental.

Stay out of it: Obama needs to quit poking his nose into other countries’ business or we'll end up in yet another war we can't win.

Raise it: Go ahead, Obama, raise the minimum wage to $15. People will no longer be able to afford fast food and other services when it's necessary to raise prices. Yet more unemployment and welfare.

Sundays off: Not knowing what the person saw — Chick-fil-A employees or other company workers? Isn't it better to work on the parking lot with no cars. Mr. Cathy doesn't impose his beliefs, he just gives his workers every Sunday off.

They did it: The crimes that crippled the home mortgage market were committed by people with names like Sen. Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank.

Why pay? You want everyone to subscribe to the paper for $100 a year but you don't even report news that happens during non-business hours. If it is during business hours it is not accurate. So why should we subscribe for $100 per year. You tell me.

Global warming: Don’t complain about the recent winter snow, etc. Just think how bad it would have been if we weren’t in the throes of global warming.

Ultimate hypocrisy: Religious Freedom Restoration Act signed into law in 1993 by Bill Clinton. Hailed by the Democrats as fantastic legislation. GOP governor tries to pass same bill in Arizona and she is hailed as a bigot.

Here we go again: If Mr. Obama does this, he should have done that. If he does that, he should have done this. He gets half the criticism Bush received and yet the liberals whine about it. He will never change. He will always blame George Bush.

A tattooed lady? Really? Is that the best we have to feature on our magazine?

Re: Georgia Says: Savannah Morning News Editorial: Order the 6th Fleet into the Black Sea — you’re kidding me. A small incident could ignite a powder keg leading to full-fledged war between the world's greatest nuclear powers. Diplomacy and sanctions are the only options.

New idea: How about less money for war, more for education.
