Sound Off

Missed the point: It is amazing how some folks leave out the most important points about the ACA. Your Republican governor and Republican legislature blocked Medicaid expansion. Your fight over higher rates falls at the feet of the those governing you in Georgia.

Some need help: There are plenty of people getting government assistance who at one time were not. People enjoy trying to paint a negative picture of people who need assistance. Use your brain, if you were fired, laid off, etc and you are over 50, the chance of you getting a job with a decent wage is slim and none.

The difference: The difference is we know what happened in Beirut.

Really?: Was told the principal at Evans Elementary told the students today hugging would no longer be allowed. I don't think there is enough of it. I guess this is step one in desensitizing our youth into an unfeeling, uncaring, unemotional herd.

One-payer: Obamacare is only the first step to a one payer health system, with the government in charge.

Paying online: The people complaining about paying for the paper must think it is another one of Obama's and the government's entitlement programs. Why not, they are giving people everything else free! What's next, free cable TV, cars, vacations or whatever you think you want.

In your shoes: I do "drive a mile" because I work for the school system as well. The $300 a week came from a previous Sound Off written by a bus driver. I also know that the new insurance rate is $526 a month. So are you telling me that your wife will be working only to pay her employer $200 a month to work?

More lies: Obama lied to get himself in the mess he is in, now trying to lie his way out of his own lies, trying to prop up lies with lies and now he is caught up with. It’s the truth and we know it.

Here we go again: The whiners are at it again about having to pay to read the newspaper online. Go to any store and see if they'll give you any item for free.

Just wait: Well folks all this Obamacare thing is pretty bad, but most people are still not convinced of his lies and the sad thing is if we had to vote again today the same people would vote for him again. But wait till they start feeling the effects at the beginning of the year.

Who’s to blame?: I have seen 3 different Sound Offs from bus drivers letting everyone know how little they make. One wrote $1,200 a month. Another wrote $830 and then $300 a month. Sounds like the problem lies with the head of transportation as everyone else in the school system is hired on at the same pay scale.

Paywall: I don't know why some people are so surprised and outraged that NTH is charging for reading the paper online. The print version is not free. Just think of how many customers would stop purchasing subscriptions because they could get it online now for free. And I don't think $6.75 a month is outrageous at all.

Lighten up: Someone should tell the anti-Halloween loons that Halloween is as American as apple pie. As long as we have had the Irish here, we've had Halloween. Grow up and have fun. Dressing up in costumes was to make fun of the devil, not emulate him.

Not bad really: Under Obama, the stock market has doubled, the deficit is down, and corporate profits are at an all-time high. He's a terrible socialist.
