The Times (Herald) they are a-changing
“Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better.” – Syndey J. Harris, American journalist
It’s that time.
There is no need to panic. We are not taking anything out of the paper. Rather, we are adding some new sections over the next couple of weeks. The alterations are in response to our recent Readership Survey. The vast majority of readers wanted more entertainment and more business-related coverage. We listened and we are starting today.
The “B” section’s new front page is now called Business. Here you will find a quick “60-second” interview with various business leaders in our community. Included are briefs on promotions, additions and changes involving people, and another “briefs” section on new businesses and related business news. Likewise, you will find at least one feature story each Sunday on individuals and businesses positively impacting our community.
Please send business news, photos and other items of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Furthermore, on the agenda is a new Entertainment section that will appear on Fridays. This addition will include features on arts and entertainment in our area. There will be a calendar of events for the upcoming weekend, to help you figure out how to get your kids off the video games. To that latter point, we will also have movie and video reviews occasionally, for when there is a downpour outside.
Send your entertainment information to email@example.com.
Starting today, we are renewing our Polling Question online. During the changeover to the new web design, those pesky internal bugs prevented us from using the program. That issue is now resolved, and the first poll will be on the website today. We will print the results on the upcoming Community Forum page.
So, change is here, and there will be more to come. The adjustments are, to borrow the old saying, a work in progress. All are positive expansions to better serve you, our readers. We appreciate your support and, as always, feel free to offer ideas and suggestions to help us improve even more.
