Gun control won't work

Gun control won’t work.
Bringing back the assault weapons ban will not stop people from committing murder. When that doesn’t work, what should we do next? Ban hand guns? Confiscate every legally-owned firearm? There are 85 million firearm owners in America.
That is not a realistic solution, but the liberals and the big government crowd would love that. What constitutional amendment would be next? Freedom of speech, the right to assemble, or the right to a free press? How much of our freedom are we willing to surrender?
Gun ownership prevents crime. Even if you do not own a gun, the possibility exists that you might keep criminals from breaking down your door and taking what you have. I would rather live in a free society and be responsible for my own protection than to surrender all my rights and be dependent on the government to decide what is best for me.
