Democrats also Christians
Certainly, the people of Coweta County do not believe that only Republicans are Christians.Nevertheless, letter after letter to the editor berates Democrats for being Godless and un-Christian. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The overwhelming majority of Democrats are self-identifying Christians. Only about 5 percent of us are non-Christian by birth, but they are also God-fearing people.
The overwhelming feeling that I get is that this county believes my God is better than your God. Moreover, it’s largely fundamentalist Protestant versus liberal Protestant and Catholic.
The Republican attempt to hijack the Christian religion will not work.
