Samaritan Clinic fine example of a community working together

Dr. Kay Crosby, Dr. Earnest Barron, Lou Graner and all the other volunteers who have supported the Coweta Samaritan Clinic during its first year of operation deserve a standing ovation, and more.
As the Samaritan Clinic begins its second year of operation, it’s clear this facility to provide free health care for those with great need is making a difference in our community.
About 500 needy patients have been screened and provided needed health care during 2,150 patient visits during the year.
Samaritan Clinic has been a true community effort. Crosby, Barron and Graner have been mainstays in making this endeavor a success, but they have had support -- big-time support -- from people throughout the community.
“We have been blessed every step of the way,” said Crosby. “Generous support from the Coweta County Hospital Authority, Newnan Hospital Foundation and Piedmont Newnan Hospital has provided us a solid foundation on which to build.”
Said Graner, “The clinic’s annual cash operating funds come entirely from private donations. We have been humbled by the generosity of our board members, individuals, local churches, corporations, foundations and civic groups.”
“Coweta Samaritan Clinic is Coweta County Citizens Caring for Our Neighbors,” said Graner.
Indeed. These leaders had the vision and the commitment to get this facility up and running. The community then responded with a building, with money, with hundreds of volunteers from doctors to nurses and others giving their time.

Year one was a good year for the clinic, which is already talking about expansion in year two and beyond.

We salute everyone involved in this great endeavor. Once again, a caring, compassionate community of people pulls together and good things happen.
