Coming Wednesday: Our special report on football season

Are you ready for some football? How about five months of running, passing, tackling and cheering for your favorite teams?
Football season has arrived.
On the professional level, our Atlanta Falcons have been in training camp and already played two pre-season games.
The Falcons have two more pre-season battles before beginning the regular season Sept. 9 in Kansas City. On the college level, all of the teams have begun pre-season practices and scrimmages with the season kicking off Aug. 30.
Most of the college teams will be in action on Sept. 1.
High school football practice and scrimmages are ongoing with many teams beginning the regular season this weekend.
Football season is one of the most exciting times of the year for millions of football fans.
On all three levels – high school, college and professional – there is really no other sport that gets attention from so many fans as football, which is almost a religion in our neck of the woods.
As the season nears, our sports staff – including Chris Goltermann, Doug Gorman, Bob Fraley and Jeff Leo – has been busy preparing a pre-season special report that will preview the area teams.
The two-section, 16-page report will be in Wednesday’s print and digital editions of The Newnan Times-Herald.
We hope you enjoy this upcoming special report. And let’s get ready for a great football season.
