Both of our new hospitals now open
For more than two years our community has watched as two new major hospitals were being built in Newnan. There was great anticipation by local residents because of the new facilities and the improved health care that would be available in our community.As of today, both of those new hospital are open for business.
The new Piedmont Newnan Hospital on Poplar Road at Interstate 85 opened on May 8.
Today, the new Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s Southeast hospital opens on the Newnan Bypass in Ashley Park.
The cancer hospital welcomed 170 employees back in July, and officials said another 100-120 workers would be added by September 2013. They said the hospital would eventually generate 500 jobs and up to $500 million in economic activity in the first five years in operation.
We welcome the Cancer Treatment Centers of America to Newnan and Coweta County. You have picked a great place for your Southeast facility.
Both of these new hospitals have already enhanced our local economy during the period of construction. Now that both are open, they are vital corporate citizens providing enhanced health care in our community.
