Mr. Wilson C. Brogdon

Obituary

Mr. Wilson C. Brogdon, age 90, resident of Newnan, Ga., died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Newnan, Ga. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Ga., on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Steve Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Brogdon, son of the late Dessie Lee Brogdon and Margaret Payne Braxton, was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Red Level, Ala. He was retired from the textile industry. He worked at West Point Pepperell for over 50 years.

Mr. Brogdon was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church, Fortson, Ga., where he served as an ordained deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Lee Pelham Brogdon.

Mr. Brogdon is survived by two sons, Bill Brogdon and his wife, Susan, of Johns Creek, GA, Tony Brogdon and his wife, Wendy, of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren, Penny Fredrick and her husband, Mark, of Phenix City, AL, Pam Brogdon of Newnan, GA, Mandy Seaman and her husband, Matt, of Newnan, GA, Misty Smith and her husband, Martin, of Newnan, GA, and Stephanie Brogdon of Newnan, GA; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
