Mr. James Hugh (Jimmy) Tate Jr.

Obituary

Mr. James Hugh (Jimmy) Tate Jr., age 75, of Riverdale, died at Southern Regional Medical Center Nov. 9, 2009. He was born in Porterdale, GA, May 26, 1934, to the late James Hugh Tate Sr. and Mary Law Tate. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and later was a dock superintendent for Roadway Express.

Mr. Tate was a member of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, and his favorite recreation was fishing and boating on Jackson Lake. Surviving are his wife, Pat Tate of Riverdale; sons, Jamie Tate of Newnan and Gary Tate of Jonesboro; daughter, Kim Brown and her husband, Steve, of Newnan; sister, Janet Fuller of Decatur; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginshillcrestchapel.com . Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey M Halenza officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Wednesday, 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Tate may be made to Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church, 2165 Highway 138 SW, Riverdale, GA 30296. Higgins Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan.
