Mrs. Lillian E. Horn

Obituary

Mrs. Lillian E. Horn, age 96, a life-long resident of Sargent died at Newnan Hospital Nursing and Rehabilitation on Nov. 8, 2009. She was born in Coweta County on Sept. 17, 1913, to the late Appilton White Melson and Annie Elizabeth Moore Melson. She worked for Bibb Manufacturing as a seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rufus Horn; daughter, Barbara Thrower; sons, James Wilson Gilley and Frank Gilley; two brothers and six sisters. Surviving are her sons, Lamar Melson and his wife Elanor of Norcross, and Edward Gilley and his special friend, Lida Hand of Franklin; daughter, Irene Redmond and her husband James of Senoia; sister, Louise McAffee of Fayetteville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginshillcrestchapel.com . Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, at 3 p.m. at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev.
