Mrs. Margaret Inez Calhoun Bishop

Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Inez Calhoun Bishop, age 91, of Luthersville, Ga., died on November 18, 2009. She was born in Meriwether County on May 12, 1918, to the late Grover Cleveland Calhoun and Lelia Mae Moore Calhoun.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert Roy Bishop, and 5 stepchildren.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker and a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and any type of needlepoint and took great pride in her gardening. Surviving are her sons and their wives, Luke and Cathy Bishop of Pavo, GA, Lawrence and Jean Bishop of Moreland, Landis and Liz Bishop of LaGrange, Roy and Allen Bishop of Troy, Ohio, Robert and Shelia Bishop of West Point; daughters, Inez Day and her husband Bobby of Bowdon, Edna Barge and her husband John of Luthersville, Alma Maimone of Sharpsburg; sisters, Mildred Bishop and Lucy Crews both of Newnan; 48 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginshillcrestchapel.com . Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Smith, Rev. Randy Gilbert, Rev. Chad Bishop, and Rev. Billy Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Friday, 5-8 p.m.
