Mr. Harold Tracy Lott
Mr. Harold Tracy Lott, known to all as Tracy, passed away March 2, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness. Tracy was born in Newnan, Ga., on Jan. 4, 1938, and was one of two children born to the late Grady Warner and Hattie B. Hall Lott.
He attended the Newnan Public Schools and finished his education after enlisting in the military. He had service in both the Navy and the Air Force as a military policeman, having spent some of that time in France.
Tracy's life was one of simple pleasures. Fishing was a favorite pastime and any pet that he had counted themselves fortunate to be the recipient of his tender care. His cats and dogs were never lacking for attention. The creatures of the wild were of equal interest to Tracy. A daily task was leaving treats for the birds, squirrels and other "critters" that showed up in his yard. During the growing season, he was a tomato grower par excellence. Lucky indeed were those who shared the bounty from the garden. He was also well known as an automobile salesman with SouthTowne.
Tracy's greatest joy in life, though, was in his dedication to the lady who made his life complete — his wife, Gayle. They perfectly complemented each other for 52 years. Also surviving is his brother Edward. His nephews are Jeff Lott, Jim Lott and Eric Lott. His niece is Donna Hooper.
Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 5, beginning at 1 p.m. The graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m.
