Mrs. Edna Massengale Neill

Mrs. Edna Massengale Neill, age 92, of Newnan, died July 3, 2013.

She was born September 6, 1920, in Fayette County Georgia to the late Berry Edward and Maggie Mae Banks Massengale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Merrill “Bud” Neill; two brothers, Hinton Massengale and Wayne Massengale; granddaughter, Gina Michele Freeman; and son in law, Terry Freeman.

She was a member of Freeman Memorial Methodist Church. Edna worked at The James River Corp. prior to her retirement. She is survived by her son, Joel Neill and his wife Carolyn; daughter, Brenda Freeman; grandchildren, Scott Neill, Steve Neill and wife Carol, Jo Anna Flinn and husband Gar; great grandchildren, Matthew Flinn, Mallory Neill and Stevie Neill. Also surviving is her sister, Molly Connor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 7 beginning at 1 p.m. with a graveside service following at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jim Hearn officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mckoon.com.
