Mr. Albert R. "Buddy" Page

Mr. Albert R. "Buddy" Page, husband, father, friend and faithful servant of God, born Nov. 29, 1943, to Harry "Buster" and Lucille Page, was called home to the peace and tranquility of heaven on June 30, 2013. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 39 years, Georgeana, and his five children and their families, including nine grandchildren: Brenda & Steve Olearnick, Joe and Sarah; Barbara & Shawn Gale, Ashley and Kameron; Sandra & Michael Turner, Kensley, Sean, Brayden and Jonathan; Mark & Lacy Page and Delaney; and Andrew & Stephanie Page. He also leaves behind five brothers and their families: Harold  "Buzzy," Gary, Carl "Micky," Ronald and Tommy.

Born on the shore of Connecticut, Buddy had a passion for the sea coast and the ocean. Boating, fishing and shell fishing were his recreation. Known later in life as Al ("Big Al" to all the Garden State Parkway/ New Jersey Turnpike commuters on his CB radio), he ultimately made his living designing and manufacturing marine drive systems and was a member of off-shore boat racing teams. He traveled the world including 53 countries and made friends everywhere he went. Al was also an active church member who participated in many local community assistance activities. Any day when Daddy was at the beach or on the ocean, with family and friends grilling barbecue chicken on the back porch, playing cards and games, taking the kids and grandkids to experience local educational and cultural activities or taking his little dog Max for a walk; he would consider it a great day.

He will be greatly missed, but all who know him will carry his kind spirit in their hearts always and will take comfort that he is at peace.

The memorial service is Tuesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening beginning at 5 p.m.

McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA 30263; 770-253-4580.
