Mrs. Barbara Ann Legg Beckom

Mrs. Barbara Ann Legg Beckom passed gently from this life on May 9, 2013.

She was born in Carroll County on March 31, 1947, and was the daughter of the late George Alan and Mabel Sanders Legg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Kee, and spouse, Johnny Varnadoe. Barbara was an environmental services worker and of the Baptist faith. 

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Beckom and Shelley Beckom Rose of Franklin. Her grandchildren are Chelci Beckom, Crystal Boyd (and Terry), Danielle Beckom, Sheree Spradlin and Jessica Beckom. There are three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Legg (and Ann); sisters, Martha Cook (and Charlie), Shirley Lawrence and Sandra Kee (and Donnie).

The visitation with the family will be on Saturday, May 11 between 6 and 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. The funeral service will be on Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m. in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers.
