Mrs. Barbara Williams Flournoy

Mrs. Barbara Williams Flournoy, age 82, passed away at her home in Grantville following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 14, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Irene Williams. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Zora Roberts Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Flournoy, in 2000. She was a member of Grantville First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children, Susan Strain, Sally (and Tony) Brown, and Mandie Schloemer. Her grandchildren are Cora Proctor (and Jason), Ben Strain (and Juanita), Fielder Strain, Avery Raptis (and Tyree), Chip Schloemer and Chase Schloemer. Her great-grandchildren are Harrison Strain, Jackson Strain, Brock Raptis and Hadley Raptis. Also surviving are her siblings, Ed Williams and Peggy Rivers.

Graveside services for Mrs. Flournoy will be on Thursday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at the Grantville Cemetery with Reverend JoAn Kinrade officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Flournoy’s memory to The Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 2525 Hwy. 34 East, Newnan, GA 30263.
