Mr. George H. Carter, Jr.

Mr. George H. Carter, Jr., of Columbus died Thursday, Apr. 11, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Carter was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Newnan, son of the late George and Estelle Arnett Carter. A veteran of service in the U. S. Air Force, he was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and retired as a quality control engineer from International Playtex. He was Baptist by faith, enjoyed golf and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his sister, Gwyn Carter Davis and her husband, Douglas, of Columbus; his former wife and dear friend, Dr. Jeanne Carter of Lone Oak; and nieces, Suzette and Michael Moore of Sarasota, FL, Julie and Steven Taylor of Simpsonville, SC, Amy and Jason Hasty of Clarksville, TN.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Apr. 15, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, with Rev. Douglas Davis and Rev. Winston Skinner officiating.
