Corporal John P. Sones

USMC Corporal John P. Sones, 23, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC. John was born March 19, 1990 in Denver, Colorado, to John S. Sones & Josette Schirm Sones.

John was a 2008 graduate of East Coweta High School. After graduation, he joined the Marine Corps and served as a Communications Marine.

Cpl Sones served in Afghanistan during 2012 and returned home to Beaufort, SC, where he proudly served until his death.

The funeral is Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 821 Old Atlanta Hwy, Newnan, with Bishop Keith Cotrell officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of John P. Sones to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org .
