Mr. Carl Edward Graham

Mr. Carl Edward “Eddie” Graham, 72, also known by friends and family as “Pap,” of Franklin, Ga., went home to be with the Lord peacefully with family by his side on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at his home.

Born on Sept. 21, 1941, in Greenford, Ohio, to the late Wilbert & Martha Graham, he was the eldest of eight children. He served our country in the U.S. Navy for seven years as an electrician. He resided in Heard County, Ga., for the last 30 years and served as an elder of New Antioch Christian Church, which he helped organize and build. He was a member of First Christian Church of Newnan at the time of his passing. He will be most remembered for his community service as a good Christian man. He would give the shirt off his back even if it was the last thing he had left.

He is survived by the love of his life for 55 ½ years, his wife, Linda Graham. Survivors also include Cheri Whoric (Bob) of Whitesburg, Ga., Michelle Mauro-Knight (Gregg) of Brigantine, NJ, Wendy Hollis (Bill) of Everson, Pa., Carla Kuehl (Charles) of Newnan, Ga.; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and several of his siblings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Martha Graham; sister, Helen Dale; and his dear oldest daughter, Debra Graham. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to First Christian Church of Newnan in Carl's name.

A memorial service will be conducted at his home in Franklin, Ga., on Aug. 16, 2014, from 2 p.m to 4 p.m.

Higgins Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, 770-253-4723
