Mrs. Burlar ‘Johnson’ Arterburn

Burlar “Johnson” Arterburn, age 92 of Newnan, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born April 7, 1922, in Heard County to the late Mr. William Franklin Brown and Mrs. Catherine Josephine Harris Brown. She worked for Bibb Manufacturing Company in the spooling department and was Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Edward (Pete) Johnson and Guy Arterburn; sons, Jerry Edward Johnson and Larry Cline Johnson; and a number of brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Julian Winkles of Newnan; daughter in law, Becky Johnson of Sargent; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; multiple great-great grandchildren; a number of great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, July 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Shane Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in Sargent Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
