Mrs. Barbara Buchanan Johnson Staley

Heaven experienced one great reunion as Barbara Buchanan Johnson Staley gently left her earthly life for eternity in heaven with family and friends who had gone before her. 

She was born Feb. 26, 1934, in Carroll County, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Sally Olena Knott Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two of her sons, Dean Staley and Dennis Johnson. 

Four of her siblings preceded her in death, Hubert Buchanan, Edward Buchanan, Ollie Calhoun and Elizabeth McDonald. Mrs. Staley was a very creative person and was a floral designer for a local florist and later for Kroger in Peachtree City. She retired in 1995. First and foremost, she was a child of God and a loving and nurturing wife and mother.

Surviving is her husband, Hubert J. Staley. Her survivors include her daughter, Dawn Johnson of Grantville; and her sons, David (and Darlene) Johnson of Dadeville, AL, Donald (and Sandra) Johnson of Moreland and Dewayne Staley of Newnan. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her surviving sisters are Clestell Reid of Carrollton and Gladys Baughn of Alabama.

The funeral service for Mrs. Staley will be on Friday, June 20 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason Johnson, Will Johnson, Michael Johnson, Steve Parker, Jerry Buchanan, Chris Cook.
