Mr. Charles 'Charlie' Pace
Mr. Charles “Charlie” Pace, age 84, of Newnan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Hope Center Memory Care in Fayetteville, GA, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Douglasville, GA, on June 24, 1929, to the late Martha and Vercie Pace. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran. Charles was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was loved by everyone and always had a smile even near the end. After retiring from General Electric Company as southeastern district manager in the Food Service Equipment Department, he opened his own business, Charles Pace & Associates. Later, retiring again, he enjoyed his retirement. He was an avid golfer, loved to fish, and was known for growing huge tomatoes and won several blue ribbons for his effort. He loved to cook and prepare Wednesday night suppers for his church. He enjoyed working with the senior adults at Palmetto Baptist Church and planned many good trips for them.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Clark Pace; sister, Laverne Davis; infant grandson, John Patrick Inman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 ½ years, Hilda Pace; son, Chuck Pace and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Pam Inman and her husband, Tommy; five grandchildren, Britt, Ben, and Brooke Inman and Chris (Sandy) and Jennifer Pace; sisters, Jean Tate, Winnie Griffin and Martha Nell Wilkie; 5 nieces and 8 nephews.
Over the last 4 years Charles has had many caregivers and we thank each one for their love and care. A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful service, support, love and care. Nurse Rebecca and Nurse Christi were truly angels and we cannot thank them enough.
