Mr. Pheris G. Krieger

Mr. Pheris G. Krieger, born September 8, 1925, in McKeesport, PA, has gone to be with our Lord, May 4, 2014.

He is survived by Dolores J. Krieger, loving wife for 69 years, of Newnan, GA; son, Mark P. Krieger and his wife, Myong Ju Krieger, of Hoschton, GA; son, Keith P. Krieger and his wife, Sandy Krieger, of McDonough, GA; son, Alan P. Krieger and his wife, Nan Krieger, of Winston, GA; daughter, Kim K. Kenney and her husband, Jimmy Kenney, of Buford, GA; daughter, Diane K. Christopher and her husband, John Christopher, of Sharpsburg, GA; along with four teen grandchil- dren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

Pheris has been a faithful servant of the Christian Church since his baptism at the age of 9. He was a radio operator for the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was instrumental in founding the North Ridge Church of Christ, Circleville, Ohio, in 1962, where he first became an elder of the church. In 1966 he was inducted as a Mason in Columbus, Ohio. He became a member of both the Knights Templar and the Shrine Club in 1967. He was president of the Newnan Shrine Club in 1977 & 1982. He served loyally, in the Newnan Shrine Club, McIntosh Masonic Lodge #735 and Knights Templar, until his health declined.

Pheris has fought the great fight. He has finished the race and he has kept the faith. The family rejoices because we know our husband and father has gone to be with our Lord. Someday, we will be joined with him again, as we stand around the throne of God, singing praises to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. What a glorious day!

The visitation was Tuesday, May 6 from 5 until 7 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA. The funeral service is Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Boyd and Pastor Scott Balentine officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
