Mr. Joseph G. Cefaly

Mr. Joseph G. “Joe” Cefaly left his tired, earthly body and was welcomed into heaven on April 30, 2014. He was born in Ashley, Pa., March 22, 1921, to Anthony and Theresa Cefaly.

In his spare time he loved to work on home improvement projects, and he always had fruit trees and a big garden. He also enjoyed dancing.

Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Venice, Florida, in 1985.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Val; daughter, Janet Whittaker of Ilion, NY; son, David of Utica, NY; and daughter, Jean Burrows of Bradenton, FL. Also, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services to be held Monday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at Farley Funeral Home in Venice, with burial at Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tidewell Hospice, 1751 Mound St., Sarasota, FL or Cabot Reserve on the Green, 4450 8th St., Sarasota, FL 34232.
