Mr. Michael S. Nalewako

Mr. Michael S. Nalewako, 81 years of age, of Newnan, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Plains, Pennsylvania, to the late Helen and Stanley Nalewajko. He is survived by his sister, Katherine Nalewajko.

He married his wife, Mickey, on April 8, 1961, and they enjoyed 53 happy years together. He is survived by his wife, his son Michael, daughter-in-law Karen and his beloved grandchildren Renee, Lisa and Michael.

Mike served in the U.S. Air Force from August 1951, until his discharge in May 1955. While in the Air Force he attended the University of Medicine studying Preventive Medicine preparing him for his three-year tour of duty in London, England. Upon discharge from the service he attended King's College where he earned a BA Degree in Economics.

He joined General Motors upon his graduation and spent most of his career in managerial positions as plant manager. In 1982 he joined GPU Nuclear Corporation and remained with that corporation until his retirement in 1995.

Mike enjoyed his retirement. He was an avid golfer and while living in New Jersey belonged to Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown, NJ. He also enjoyed the solitude of fly fishing. He travelled the world with his wife Mickey. They moved to Newnan, GA in 2001, a move which allowed them to spend considerable time with their son, Michael and his wonderful family. Mike's biggest enjoyment was spending weekends with them on their farm and keeping up with all their projects.

Mike was a member of Newnan Country Club where he enjoyed the fellowship of its members and formed many enjoyable relationships.
