Mrs. Alice Carmelita Brown

Mrs. Alice Carmelita Brown passed away on April 13, 2014, surrounded by her family at Kindred Hospital. She was born on Sept. 16, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, to Emanuel and Nellie (Barraza) Ruedas Martinelli.

Alice graduated from Santa Monica Highschool and attended Santa Monica College where she studied accounting. On Aug. 28, 1965, she married the love of her life, Errol Brown. While starting her family she worked independently as a cake decorator in the San Fernando Valley. After moving to Simi Valley in 1979 she concentrated on raising her three children. While there, she hosted many holiday gatherings for friends and family. In 1986 she and her family moved to Georgia where she lived in Stockbridge and then Senoia. Her greatest devotion was to her husband and family. Alice also enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and found great pleasure in spending time with them. Often on the weekends you could find her baking with her grandson for family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her step-brother Bernie Ruedas. She is survived by her husband Errol Brown and her three children, Eric Brown of Simi Valley, CA, Diane Brown and Cindy Jones of Senoia, GA; six grandchildren, Amanda Brown of Simi Valley, CA, Ashley Brown of Simi Valley, CA, Eric Brown of Simi Valley, CA, Heather Jones, Brittney Jones, and Hunter Jones of Senoia, GA; and her uncle, Joey Barraza (who was like a brother to her) and good friends Leo and Sue Houck.
