Mr. Clarence J. Phillips
Mr. Clarence J. Phillips was born on January 17, 1936, in Newnan, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clarence Phillips and Dessa Lou Phillips; and seven sisters and four brothers. He died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the age of 78 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital of complications related to cancer.
In his own words, "I am survived by the love of my life for 58 years, Patricia; my two sons and their wives, Mark Phillips and his wife Tara Hahn of Texas, Todd and Gina Phillips of Florida; my grandson, Josh Phillips and Crystal Edwards, who are the parents of my two great-granddaughters – Chloe and Abigail of Tennessee; my grandson, Zach and Megan Phillips of Florida. Also surviving me is my sister, Barbara Thompson of Newnan; my brothers, Don Phillips and his wife Billie of Monroe, Mack Phillips and his wife Betty of Newnan. I have many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and my church family at Arnco Baptist Church. I lived, I loved and I was loved."
Mr. Phillips' family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of those who cared for their husband and father during his treatments at Peachtree Hematology Oncology Consultants and during his stay at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2 beginning at 1 p.m. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Chuck Novak officiating.
