Mrs. Dorothy Mae Moore Schultze

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Moore Schultze, 87, of Newnan, passed away at home March 22.

She was born in Chattanooga, TN, to John and Ora Moore and grew up in Glencoe, AL. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Schultze; children, Lisa (Bruce) Beyer of Roswell and David (Patricia) Schultze of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, John, Zachary and Lindsay Schultze; sisters, Louise Trahan and Annie Jo Cook; brother, Robert Moore; friend, Amanda Kerlin, and beloved dogs Beau and Kelly.

A devoted wife, mother and extraordinary homemaker, Mrs. Schultze loved to cook, entertain, play golf and bridge. She shared her love of reading with her children and grandchildren, and was a literacy volunteer. She loved her country and was thankful to be born in America. She was kind to animals, hugged trees, enjoyed her garden and excelled at telling jokes. Mrs. Schultze and her husband retired to Callawassie Island, SC in the late ‘80s and traveled extensively.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 576 Roscoe Road, Newnan, Georgia on Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to her church, hospice, or The Smile Train (smiletrain.org) are appreciated. We will miss her always.
