Mr. James Lester Weddington IV

Mr. James Lester Weddington IV, 65, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at his home in Newnan. He was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Newnan, Ga., to Jimmy and Mary Weddington. His father, James Lester Weddington III, preceded him in death.

He graduated from Newnan High School and received undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from the University of West Georgia. He worked in the family business, Weddington Chevrolet-Oldsmobile, and at Pathways Center as a counselor.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness and love of books and music, and the joy he brought to his family. He will be greatly missed.

A private family graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends who wish to speak to the family may come to the home of his mother, Mary Weddington, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. Rather than flowers, the family requests contributions to Newnan Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1107, Newnan, GA 30264.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jamie Weddington, and her family; mother, Mary Atkeson Weddington; sisters, Jane (Andy) Anderson, Ann McQuilken; several nieces and nephews.
