Mr. Eugene Hosmer

Mr. Eugene Hosmer, 75, of Luthersville, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston.

Mr. Hosmer was born April 30, 1938, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., son of the late Thomas Monroe Hosmer and Rosie Eaton Hosmer. A resident of Meriwether County for the past 25 years, he was a member of Faith Baptist Church, was a veteran of service in the National Guard, and was retired from Brown Steel Company. He is remembered as a man who had a great love for each member of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Houston Hosmer; son, Sandford Hosmer; daughter, Marie Hosmer, all of Luthersville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Michael Duchesne, Alice and Paul Whitten, all of Hogansville; and brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry Hosmer of Grantville, Bobby and Bernice Hosmer of Murfreesboro, Ten.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Rev. Brian Hosmer and Rev. Bryan Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 - 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
