Mr. Harvey Cecil Bundy Jr.
Mr. Harvey Cecil Bundy Jr., age 87, of Thomaston, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Riverside Nursing Center.
Mr. Bundy was born in Bedford, Ind., to the late Harvey C. and Ida Elmira Bundy Sr. He was a master stone carver and retired from Sherwood Cut Stone Company with over 50 years of service. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps, and saw combat in the battle of Iwo Jima, and Japan during WWII. Mr. Bundy was also the owner of Sunset Roller Palace in 1976.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Linda Genelle Fordham Bundy; and son, Harvey Bundy III. Survivors include daughters, Dixie Lee Bundy of Thomaston, Kricket (George) Latiolais of Dawsonville, Ga., and Michelle (P.J.) Orlandez of Thomaston; sons, Terry (Gwen) Bundy, Wayne (Ava) Bundy, both of Thomaston, and Craig (Geri-Lynn) Copeland of Staford, Va.; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Bundy; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bundy will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. from Clarks Chapel Baptist Church with burial in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family was receiving friends on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Clarks Chapel Baptist Church, 176 Mathis Lake Rd., Thomaston, GA 30286.
