Mrs. Doris Ann Spangler Walton

Mrs. Doris Ann Spangler Walton, 78, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. 

She was born on July 9, 1935, in Williamson, West Virginia, to A.H "Reese"and Mary Spangler. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.H. "Tubby" Walton Jr.; and is survived by her daughter, Lynne Lowe and son-in-law William Lowe of Abingdon, VA, her daughter Amy Walton of Atlanta, GA, and her granddaughter Meighen Lowe of Carrboro, NC.

Doris had been a resident of Newnan, Georgia, for 13 years moving from Abingdon, VA, where she had lived for 40 years. During her time in Newnan, she was surrounded by caring neighbors who provided her friendship and a great sense of community. Doris served as the chair of the County Supervisors for Washington County, Virginia, was a member of the Board of Directors for the Bristol Ballet Company and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The family will be welcoming friends at the Lake Redwine Plantation Clubhouse, Friday, Oct. 25, from 6-8 p.m.
