Mr. Johnny Travis Collins

Our beloved Johnny Travis Collins was suddenly taken from us to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 26, 2013. Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Navy and fought for our country by serving in the Vietnam War. During his stay in Corpus Christi, TX, he met his wife Cora. They met in July of 1968 and knew right away it was meant to be and they were married three months later.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Marcie and Richard Collins (Nanny & GaGa) and grandmother “Granny Ruth.” His is survived by wife Cora (Mearle as he called her); children, Joni Collins, Tami Martin and Ricky Collins and their spouses Bubba Martin and Christy Collins; his grandchildren, Travis Collins, Dustin Collins, Trevor Mauch, Lexi Martin, Jessie White, Thomas Collins and Savannah Collins; his great-grandsons Travis Collins Jr. and Shane Collins and new to the family on Sept. 1 by marriage Kelsey Collins; siblings Mike Collins, Teresa Collins and Tim Collins and their spouses Shelia Collins and Teri Collins; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and in laws.

The funeral arrangements are held by Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281, 770-474-1231. Viewing will be Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 6 - 8 p.m. and the funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m.
