Mr. Richard B. Allen

Richard Bruce Allen, 89, of Newnan, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

He was born on July 12, 1924 in Clarkston, GA to the late Lon Allen and Annie Stallings Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Brimer Allen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired as electrician with the Local 613 Union. Mr. Allen was a member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Allen is survived by his sons, Charles Allen and Phil Allen; grandchildren, Ben Allen, Kyle Allen, Jake Allen and Emily Allen. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mckoon.com

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Parrish and Rev. Jim Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 from 5-7 pm at McKoon Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome or contribution can be made to Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church, 4301 Roscoe Rd., Newnan, GA 30263.
