Mr. Clyde E. Head
Mr. Clyde Edward Head died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at his home.
Clyde was born on May 23, 1924, in Douglasville, Ga., to the late Lillie Mae Jaillette Head and the late Charles Moses Head. At an early age he moved to Lindale, Ga., and in 2008 moved to Wesley Woods in Newnan. He graduated from Darlington School in Rome, Ga., and attended the University of Georgia.
He served in the Army Air Forces from 1943-1945.
Clyde was an employee of West Point Pepperell and retired in 1984 as Controller of the Apparel Division.
Clyde was an active member of the Silver Creek Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon and an elder. He was a member of the Lindale Lodge No. 455 F&AM. He was an avid golfer and known for his woodworking and gardening skills.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Charles Head; and sisters, Iva Lou Schotta and Annie Ruth Blankenship. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bettye Jean Geiger Head; and children, Michael Edward Head and wife Pam of Indian Trail, N.C., and Susan Head Coggin of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Head of Greensboro, NC, Jennifer Head Kothe of Indian Trail, NC, Payton Coggin of Newnan, GA, and Kacy Coggin of Knoxville, TN; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Henderson and Sons Funeral Home in Lindale on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Harry Barrow of Newnan Presbyterian Church officiating. The family received friends after the service.
