Mr. Bobby Joe Veal

Mr. Bobby Joe Veal, 77, left this earthly home peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. He was born November 9, 1935, to the late Avery D. Veal and Katie Brown Veal in Frolona, GA. He retired in 1997 from the City of Newnan Fire Department after more than 25 years of service. He was always a friendly man with a great sense of humor, wonderful smile and contagious laugh. He is now reunited with his precious wife of 51 years, Marianne Brown Veal.

His children are: Cindy Veal Dingler (Eddie), Joey Veal, Nickey Veal (Lisa), Randy Veal (Sheri) and Renay Veal Rumohr (Guy). Known as Poppaw, his grandchildren were a bright light in his life and they all loved him dearly. They are: Kacie Dingler McWaters (Glenn), Brooke Dingler Barnes (Dustin), Nick Veal Jr., Joshua Rumohr, Brent Veal, Kelsey Veal, John Veal, Olivia Rumohr and Jay Veal. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren: Walter Glenn McWaters Jr. and Reese Kaitlyn Barnes. His surviving siblings are sister, Geraldine Veal Reese (Frank), and brother, Jimmy Veal (Gail) of Newnan.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 19 between 6 and 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. A private family interment service is planned at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rather than flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
