Mr. Morris E. “Smitty” Smith

Mr. Morris E. “Smitty” Smith, age 86, of Newnan, GA, died at Doctor's Hospice in Riverdale on July 15, 2013. He was born in Marysville, IN, on Sept. 22, 1926 to the late Wilmer Forrest Smith and Esther Myrtle Amick Smith. He was vice president of operations for American Freight System and was a member of Heatherwood Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Young Smith of Newnan; son, Don (Ruth) Smith of New Albany, IN; daughters, Debbie (Leon) Canup of Newnan and Kim (Greg) Bailey of Alpharetta; sister, Mary Meeks of Louisville KY; 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at Heatherwood Baptist Church with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
