Mr. Glenn Stone
Mr. Glenn Stone, 70, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, at his home in Newnan. He was born January 18, 1944, in Coweta County to the late Marvin "Red" Stone & Grace Elizabeth Smith Stone.
Glenn grew up in Moreland and was graduated from Newnan High School in 1960 and from the University of Georgia in 1964 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. While in high school he was an athlete and played numerous sports and later tried out with the Pittsburg Pirates. After college he began his career teaching and coaching at Arnco-Sargent Junior High School for several years and later taught at O.P. Evans and Newnan High School. He later worked as a human resource manager with Shaw Industries after owning and operating Newco Salvage. He retired from Newnan Utilities in January 2013. Glenn was well known for his knowledge of firearms and repairing guns.
The funeral is Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Couch officiating. The visitation is Friday evening between 6 - 8 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. There will be a private family interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rather than flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to either the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067 or to the March of Dimes, 1776 Peachtree Street, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30309.

Survivors include daughters, Rebecca Stone, Megan Stone; mother of his children, Jennie Stone-Gillihan; sister, Floye Burnham & husband Bobby; grandchildren, Emily Owens, Seth Rainey, Brycen Buchanan, Cade Buchanan, Spencer Buchanan, Mason Buchanan, Gunner Deaton; nieces and nephews, Brooke Greer and husband Kevin, Beth Burnham, Rob Burnham and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
