Mr. James Vester Dyer
Mr. James Vester Dyer, age 82, of Newnan, died at his residence on February 15, 2013. He was born in Blairsville on May 15, 1930, to the late Cart Dyer and Pearl Duckworth Dyer.
He served his country in the United States Army and retired from General Motors. James was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Lowman Dyer; brother, Herbert Dyer (Anita); and sister, Ruby Nell Cook (Eugene), all of Blairsville; stepsons, Roy Lawrence of McDonough and Kenneth Lawrence of Franklin; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Timothy Hammett officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3-5 p.m.
