Mr. Curtis E. Ivey
Mr. Curtis E. Ivey, 94, of Newnan, GA, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. He was born May 19, 1918, in Forsyth, GA, to the late James Troy Ivey & Addie Mae Lynch Ivey.
Mr. Ivey was a longtime member and deacon of Trinity Baptist Church in Newnan. He served in the Army, Company A-255th Engineer Combat Battallion, during WWII. He received several decorations & citations, including European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Mr. Ivey worked for Georgia Power for many years at Plant Yates, retiring after 33 years. He also served as a Georgia Power Ambassador.
The funeral is Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel Chambers Ivey; children, Jerry (Marsha) Ivey, Aundrea (Rev. Rick) Duncan; grandchildren, Parker Ivey, Blanche Ivey, Curt Ivey, Angie Ison, Jenny Adcock, Tim Duncan, Rhonda Roberts, Karen Cheeves; and 15 great-grandchildren.
