Mr. Harvey L. Dutton Jr.
Mr. Harvey L. Dutton Jr., 70, was born in Newnan, GA, Aug. 11, 1942, to the late Harvey L Dutton, Sr. and Estelle Oliver Dutton. He was also predeceased by his son, Andrew Dutton, and sister, Nadine Dutton Gaddy.
After receiving excellent care from the dedicated staff at Woodland Ridge Memory Care Facility in Smyrna, GA, Harvey died late afternoon on Jan. 27, 2013, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease after many years of declining health.
Harvey was blessed with a strong work ethic and began his career at age 16, working his way up the ranks at the Bon-L Company while also attending night classes at Georgia Tech to earn his degree as an industrial engineer. He had a long and successful career with the GARR Consulting Group and Deloitte & Touche before starting his own management consulting firm, DCB & Company Inc., in 1988. After great success as Senior Partner at DCB, he retired in 1995 to pursue his favorite hobbies as an accomplished woodsmith, getting his private pilot’s license, and restoring his Cessna 180.
Surviving Harvey are his beloved wife, Debby Jackson Dutton; two daughters, Leigh Ann and Elizabeth of Newnan; and sister, Diane Dutton Barnwell of West Palm Beach, FL. Also surviving are stepsons, Allen (and Kelly) Loftin of Newnan, Andy (and) Kate Loftin of Bridgeport, WV. Nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews completed his family.

Condolences can be expressed online at www.mckoon.com .

Harvey will be joyfully remembered as his family hosts a reception at the home of Allen and Kelly Loftin on Saturday, Feb. 2 between 3 and 5 p.m.

Rather than flowers, Harvey’s family would suggest donations in his memory to the Lindsey Riggs Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 71774, Newnan, GA 30271, which benefits special needs children and high school seniors pursuing higher education. Lindsey was a remarkable young woman whose selflessness and dedication to the needs of others continue to inspire us.
