Mrs. Doris May Brucker of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 18, 2013, and is now cradled in the arms of our Lord. Born on June 23, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Sophie Ziegler, she later moved to Florida and eventually settled in Newnan.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie; brothers, Johnnie Ziegler and his wife Patricia, Albert Ziegler and his wife Edna; and her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert (Bob) Brucker.
Doris was a cosmetologist in her early years before she started her family. She was an avid doll collector, loved all God’s creatures (mostly cats) and especially loved the plants and flowers she tended in her yard.
Doris is survived by her children, Raymond Brucker and his wife Joan of Newnan, Ga., Deborah Miller of North Carolina, Denise Reidelbach and her husband John of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Tami Warman and her husband Craig of Newnan, Ga. Doris, or Lil’l G’ma as she was affectionately called, is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City for loving our mom, and also our thanks to Evercare Hospice for their support and care they provided in her home.
The family will honor her with a celebration of life memorial service at 45 Elmtree Dr., Sharpsburg, GA 30277 on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory, to the Coweta County Animal Shelter on Selt Road in Newnan, Ga.
