Mr. William Harvey “Red” Hill, 87, of Newnan, Ga., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, surrounded by loved ones at his residence.
“Red” was born in Moreland, Ga., to A.L. and Effie Hill May 12, 1925. He was joined in marriage on May 1, 1951, to Arvella Anderson.
“Red” retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He proudly served during the World War II and Vietnam eras along with two tours to the Republic of Korea. He was a member of The Open Door Baptist Church in Senoia, Ga.
Besides his wife and parents, “Red” is preceded in death by 7 siblings.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Gene) Harris, Marsha Hill, Mike (Kathy) Hill, Kenneth Hill, Thomas Hill and Alice (Tony) Crawford.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Stephanie (Spiker) Stull, Heath Borne, Kathy Jo (Richard) Russell, Brandon (Brittney) York, Rachel Crawford, and Shannon Crawford; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Additionally, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at Open Door Baptist Church, 7364 Highway 16 East, Senoia, Ga. Pastor Steve Smith will be officiating.
