Ms. Janie Hite Hammond, age 58, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013.
She was born June 19, 1954, in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of John Hite and Jossie Otwell Hite.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lawrence Chase Jr.; and sisters, Melinda Hite Cook and Elisha Ann Hite.
Survivors include her parents, John & Jossie Hite of Whitesburg; brother, Kenneth (Jennifer) Hite of Winston; sister, Bea (Bill) McKenzie of Newnan; nieces: Brandy (Mark) Taylor of Whitesburg and Bridget (Mike) Benton of Grantville; nephews: Kevin Hite of Marietta and Kane Hite of Winston; great nephews: Austin Horton of Whitesburg and Michael & Hunter Benton of Grantvile.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Gary Brown officiating.
Music will be rendered by Bill McKenzie.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Hite, Austin Horton, Mark Taylor, Mike Benton, Michael Benton and Ted Holloway.
Interment will follow in Whitesburg City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
