Mr. Richard Larry Clay Sr., age 68, of Thomaston, Ga., died Jan. 8, 2013, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Clay was born on Oct. 21, 1944, in Thomaston, Ga., to the late George and Minnie Lee Clay. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mr. Clay was in the Thomaston National Guard Unit for 10 years. He was employed with the Gardner-Devner Company, where he worked as a shipping agent.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janice Clay of Thomaston, Ga.; daughter, Mrs. Carla Jan (Jerry) Crider of Newnan, Ga.; son, Mr. Richard Larry (Jody) Clay Jr. of Sharpsburg, Ga.; brother, Mr. Glenn (Sybil) Clay of Stockbridge, Ga.; sister, Mrs. Georgia Coggins of Thomason, Ga.; 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, Thomaston. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends at Coggins Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 5-7 p.m.
